Of course, no one chose all of this. It happened onto us unwillingly. Every generation was injected with a reproductive force and will to life by the prior, all the way back to the microbes and beyond. An unending sequence of forced being and willingness. No one, not even the collective body of humanity, is in control of anything that is human. Human itself is just as much not human as human.

We are all, in essence, passengers in this game of evolutionary experimentation. We could all be aggressively and competitively working towards something worse than this or indifferent to us. Or perhaps not. At a minimum, it’s something we are cluelessly lost in.

We all run around in a panic, horrified that we aren’t enough. We scream at and hate each other over this and that. We avert and destroy our own selves. We sabotage and betray those we love. We kill and get killed for reasons we don’t understand. We make great efforts towards nothing. If one needs any proof that we have no idea what we are doing and that no one is in control, it is this.
